At-Risk Population in Houston
Below is a map I created during my Data Analytics Graduate Certificate at Brandman University using the ArcGIS software. This map shows the evacuation routes in Houston that are used during a hurricane. Then, using census data, I added a layer of data that measures the percentage of households without a car. This allows us to see which areas have a high population of households without a vehicle. The darker blue tracts have a higher percentage of households without a vehicle. This pattern helps answer the question: Where in Houston should we provide evacuation assistance during a hurricane?
